Sit right down with me for a good Cuppa Light! A Cuppa Light is Java for your whole being! Most of us begin our day with some morning rituals including grabbing a cuppa something to get our physical bodies going. I wanted inspiration for my spirit and mind as well. I found that if I sincerely needed uplifting moments, they would come.
They came in dreams, something I’d observe, emails people sent, or things they would say. I’d read a book, and there was a quotation or passage that lifted or helped me know the right thing to do. I learned how to recognize, and work with the different parts of myself, and how to help others do it as well. I created this website as an inspirational place, A Cuppa Light for your whole being. If you're in a hurry just read the blog below or click on "A Little Cuppa". Maybe one will be just right for you!  Invite your friends to come recharge with a good cuppa light.
Add your flavor to the Cuppa via the guestbook below. Share something that inspires you, and write about it in the guestbook. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

The God of Love Destroys Hate

I love the story of Jesus, and have since I was a little girl. There are many wise teachers, and faiths that I’ve learned from, but Jesus was my first and is still my dearest teacher.

This Holy Week I’m spending quiet time fasting, praying, meditating and reading about Holy Week in The Urantia Book.

The Urantia Book is way out there, I know, but an earthly teacher whom I respect told me that it really helped him understand Jesus and his ministry, so I began it. It’s online at www.truthbook.com,  Jesus’ story starts at Paper 120. On Thursday I started reading “The Last Supper”, and am reading now about the message of the Cross. This is what I read:

The crucifixion was not something that God required to pay for our sins. The part of God that indwelled in Jesus desired to know about mortal death, desired to understand the flesh, and it was Jesus’ choice to be crucified. At any moment He could have stopped it. It did have far reaching effects. People were converted by his peaceful presence throughout the ordeal.

Jesus came to teach that God was a loving Father, not a just, and merciful king, as he was believed to be in the highly structured Jewish faith of that time. The power of His Love is astounding. I quote from Paper 188  5. Lessons from the Cross:

“Jesus loves men so much that his love awakens the response of love in the human heart. Love is truly contagious and eternally creative. Jesus’ death on the cross exemplifies a love which is sufficiently strong and divine to forgive sin and swallow up all evil-doing. Jesus disclosed to this world a higher quality of righteousness than justice—mere technical right and wrong.

Divine love does not merely forgive wrongs; it absorbs and actually destroys them. The forgiveness of love utterly transcends the forgiveness of mercy. Mercy sets the guilt of evil-doing to one side; but love destroys forever the sin and all weakness resulting therefrom. Jesus brought a new method of living to Urantia (the world). He taught us not to resist evil but to find through him a goodness which effectually destroys evil. The forgiveness of Jesus is not condonation; it is salvation from condemnation. Salvation does not slight wrongs; it makes them right. True love does not compromise nor condone hate; it destroys it. The love of Jesus is never satisfied with mere forgiveness.”

Also, when John asked Jesus how to be more loving, Jesus answered learn more about the Father’s love for you.

If we truly are sorry for something we’ve done, and ask for forgiveness, it implies that we’ve learned from our mistake, and won’t do it again. Love absorbs the wrong, because Love, which is what God is, encompasses everything. But we have to arrive at the state where we ask Jesus, or Holy Spirit to fill us with love which wouldn’t want to make that mistake again.

In my past I have allowed guilt to chew me up. Through “A Course in Miracles” I learned to forgive myself and others. One of my favorite teachings in the Course is: "You need not fear the Higher Court will condemn you. It will merely dismiss the case against you.” Text p. 88. Many are not drawn to the course. So here is another source that says the same thing in a different way.

Love Succeeds. Love is all there is in truth. May our remembering come as swiftly as we can hold it!

Letting go and Feeling the Love

A friend of mine has a baby with Downs Syndrome. She has to be hospitalized occasionally for various reasons. Last night she was not able to breathe well, and ended up being ambulanced at 2 a. m. this morning. My friend was unable to pack up anything, just stayed with her precious daughter. I love this lady. She loves her daughter so much.

It reminded me of a time when my own special needs daughter was hospitalized for her first open heart surgery 27 years ago. We felt blessed in that many were praying for us, and we had faith that God was with us. Still, when the doctor told us that her chances were only 40% to not being affected negatively by this surgery in some way, I sighed.

After the surgery she was moved to the pediatric intensive care unit, and had 11 tubes, probes, and devices attached to her precious little 22 month old body. She had a machine breathing for her. We were able to see her only briefly as the very skilled nurse kept moving from one tube to another, and reading monitors the entire time we were there. The doctor told us that the surgery went well. Thanks Beloved. We’d have her a little longer.

When she was moved down to the floor my husband and I became assistant nurses. We were told what it meant if this bell rang, or this number got too high. I was mentally a watch dog for my angel, who was just beginning to recognize us, and who honestly seemed shell-shocked.

One time when Joshua was in the room, I collapsed onto my recliner chair, exhausted. As I relaxed, I felt a loving energy presence surrounding me. It felt warm, and caring. I closed my eyes. It’s hard to describe. Its color would be a light coral pink and it seemed to have gold flecks in it. It was if the tiniest atoms were caressing me, and buoying me up. I just relaxed into it. I believe it was peoples’ prayers.  I felt loved, and I recharged. I repeated it too!

Now my understanding of God, Beloved, Creator, Source has expanded to include all human kind. I don't need to rely on others' prayers. I can let go and feel the love that I am, that we all are. If God created us, we are what God is, Love. And it is the nature of Love to extend itself. Even though we may not always feel loving, that is the result of our ego’s perception of us, and not a reflection of what we are truly. The challenge becomes one of choosing once again to remember that we are Divine Love, and so is everyone else. The Chardon H.S. shooter T.J. Lane, who smirked in court and flipped off the family of those he shot will one day wake up from his nightmare. He will remember that he is Love as well, and express his Life accordingly. Everything in this world will decay in time except for the love that we are and create.

God loves All in All. There can be no “special” cases. Wouldn’t it be great if we all just began to act as if we had unlimited supplies of love to extend in any situation we found ourselves. We’d find that we’d never run out. We would always be able to relax in a “recliner chair” of some kind, and recharge.

Don’t forget dear friend. All the Love in the Universe is available to you!

Let the Games Begin!

I’m happy! I’ve finished creating a game that is meant to help people connect with and feel closer to their loving Creator. I’m having test games to refine and clarify the process of the game. We play awhile, and then I ask for feedback. So far, so good I’m pleased to say. In the beginning we pray for the heightened ability to hear the Voice for God,  to feel God’s love, and get an idea of what to focus on in the game. We write that down, and share it with others. We accept that God is the silent partner in the game, helping us choose the right cards to read.

When people join together with God in their midst, miracles happen, and we’ve had a couple. The first time I played I asked help in seeing how to make the game better. That happened, AND I drew a card that took me to an unresolved issue with another person that needed to be looked at. I had kinda swept it under the rug because I didn’t want to deal with it. But I needed to deal with it for my own peace of mind. Another person was afraid that he would never see his departed daughter again, and she appeared during the game to him, and also it was verified by another player…. Who had a releasing of his own.

So the game’s in refinement, but also in play. I will be playing it with some people who have been in trouble with the law. This is going to be interesting! So far I’ve played with people who have some idea that we live in a dualistic world of ego and spirit, and who want to connect with Spirit. How will she fly with those who mostly think they are bodies and minds? I’m also playing it with some Alcoholics Anonymous people who are learning about spirit.

I’m not exactly sure where the game will go. I just know that I was supposed to create and refine it, and I know what my motivation was. While many of us have some sort of spiritual practice that we do, because of the relentless bombardment of ego’s separating thoughts, we have to keep reminding ourselves that we are Love, and so is God and everyone else.  It is hard to do that alone. It helps to have at least one other person that you can talk and be with when you don’t feel at peace, which is how we would feel if we had no negativity. The game helps people remember their True loving Selves, and creates spiritual bonds between players. I’ll know what to do at the right time. Joshua and I have been planning a road trip for awhile. I’m thinking that we might create a “Have Game will Travel” adventure.

I’m going to roll the die, and pull out a card’s message to end with: Now this is interesting. I saw the card I wanted and pulled it but accidentally two came out. The top card that I was thinking of for the blog said, “If I want to be reborn, I will have to give my script to Source for a rewrite.”  But underneath it was one for me personally. That will help me deal with a difficulty in my life: “What must we remember so we can keep forgiving someone who keeps hurting us in the same way?” Phew! Tough for me, but I get it: What I think I’m experiencing is a projection of my ego onto another, and what I really am is Love, which holds no grievances.  If only I could remember this when I’m in these situations! But in time I will. It is certain, and it is getting easier.
